PRESS RELEASE - Art and Framing Industry Framing Awards Ian Dixon GCF awarded again? Framing professionalism and excellence was rewarded for the best of a striking exhibition of pieces framing an identical print provided by Designline Systems. Artist Nel Whatmore’s stunning floral picture had inspired the entrants, who showed how different the creative combination of frame and mount can make an image look. Ian Dixon GCF, a Bespoke Picture Framer in East Horsley, was selected to represent the Fine Art Trade Guild’s London region in the National Framing Awards. He displayed his creative genius with a beautifully crafted frame and mount combination that showed off the print to best effect. The exhibition was judged by a panel of visitors, picture framing professionals and Reigate and Banstead Mayor, Councillor Mrs Dorothy A Ross-Tomlin MCIPS Ian Dixon GCF has been the winner of the Art & Framing Industry Framing Awards on three previous occasions and is also a past winner of the Framing Business of Distinction Award so he has high hopes of carrying off the National Framing Award. He is also a qualified Guild Commended Framer specialising in framing Needlework and Memorabilia but all other types of framing are undertaken. “When the public see such quality work, it expands their perception of our industry and professional skills”, commented Rosie Sumner, managing director of the Fine Art Trade Guild, the Trade Association which organised the awards. “Consumers can trust Guild Commended Framers to truly enhance the artwork, as well as providing protection.” The Art & Framing Industry National Awards will be presented in May 2008 at a glittering Awards Event in Bristol. *Photo of winning piece can be seen in the competitions gallery* Additional information: The Fine Art Trade Guild is the Art and Framing industry’s trade association, responsible for information, promotion and development.
